Two of the greatest slight
of hand artists in the 20th century, Dai Vernon and Tony
Slydini. (With one of the greatest of the next.)
|

Paul Harris (above) wrote many of the great
slight of hand books. He was a pioneer in close-up (street)
magic. Click the picture to see what we look like today.

Most of these pictures came from a luncheon
thrown at the home of these two famous Las Vegas illusionists:
Siegfried and Roy. The thing I remember most was the lion caged
in the back yard. He roared on command. |

The guy standing in the shadow is Joe Berg.
He wrote some of the funniest (truly lamer) lines that I used in
my show. Of course he gave me permission. They were so bad that
no one else would ever use them, ie. "There are two kinds
of magicians to never trust.. those who have beards and those
who do not."

Here is Wendy with illusionist, Dennis
Loomis. I just saw him recently and he hasn't changed very much.
|

Remember when Ricky Jay had long hair? He
wrote CARDS AS WEAPONS and has recently been on Broadway with
his play Ricky Jay and His Fifty-two Assistants. |

This is a picture of Loren Michaels (second
from left) and his troup. I directed a show for him and he gave
me my first strait jacket. |

Here I am paying my respects to the great
Houdini. He is buried just about twenty minutes from my home in
NY.
