Who we’re looking for:

A Sales/Use and Property Tax manager to ensure the full tax compliance across our organization both efficiently and effectively as well as ensure the timely identification, reporting and management of key tax risks. The individual will strive to reduce complexity of our filings by seeking out and delivering on tax optimization opportunities across the organization

What you’ll do

  • Act as a liaison with 3rd party external service provider for Monthly Sales/Use Tax Compliance and voluntary disclosure filings with key states.
  • Complete standard reporting and operating practices for sales and use tax compliance
  • Initiate wire requests, obtain approvals, coordinating payment and proactively communicating with Director of Accounting to meet compliance deadlines
  • Manage Use Tax accruals and review system accrual for accuracy
  • Issue vendor exemption certificates and maintain online file to ensure all certificates needed are collected and reviewed for accuracy
  • Work with external partner to obtain maximum sales tax refunds possible
  • Perform Quarterly GL reconciliations and make manual entries as needed
  • Ensure that all Business Licenses needed are obtained and maintained; Track renewal dates and payments due; Initiate payments and make on-line filings where needed
  • Manage the filing and payment of property taxes in the markets that we serve.
  • Assist with tax audits, preparation of responses to notices, and other tax-related inquiries
  • Perform tax research in support of indirect tax planning and compliance
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within the compliance and provision process, especially with respect to utilization of technology
  • Maintain online account management and system administration: Resetting passwords and adding/subtracting access

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 5 years of tax experience in both public accounting and industry
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge regarding sales tax compliance
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to plan, manage and independently prioritize work as well as ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on a team with emphasis on accuracy and timelines

Bonus points if..

  • You have telecommunications tax experience
  • You are a CPA
