We know everyone is working hard to safeguard their families and communities from the impact of COVID-19. At Starry, our team is working around the clock to ensure that we continue to deliver the same high-quality internet service that you know and love.
For companies that can, many have already begun to transition their workforces to work from home. Schools and colleges have also started to institute remote learning protocols and medical offices are encouraging remote telehealth consultations when possible. Because of this, you may have started to read media reports that suggest all this online work is going to overwhelm networks and paralyze us all. Well, we’re here to say, stay calm and we’ve got you covered.
Over the last week, we’ve seen significant increases in usage and traffic on our network and are prepared for this to continue to trend upward. As always, we’re actively monitoring our network so that we continue to meet and exceed your expectations on service.
We know this is a challenging time for everyone, here’s how we’re doing our part to get you through:
- Ultra-fast downloads and uploads. Other providers can match our download speeds. But their single-digit upload speeds make video calls, uploading files and working from home a miserable experience. Our downloads and uploads both average over 250 Mbps.
- No data caps. Ever. When you’re working from home, doing online learning or just streaming another episode, you shouldn’t worry about your internet speed throttling. We will never cap your data or charge extra for high usage.
- Exceptional customer care, 24/7. Our support team doesn’t make you press 4 a bunch of times. We just pick up the phone when you call. And if you have issues with any internet connected device, from streaming devices to your company VPN, we’re here to help.
COVID-19 has presented unprecedented challenges to all our communities and Starry has made a pledge to do everything we can to make sure that we keep the communities we serve online and connected. Our field teams are also taking precautions to keep you and us safe. We’re ensuring that all equipment is thoroughly disinfected, that our teams wear protective gear and that all our team members rigorously follow the CDC’s guidelines on handwashing and limiting contact (elbow bumps all day long!).
